​OUR STORY

Hello Arts began in 2015 as a collective of artists and community organizers in South Philadelphia focused on using art and storytelling to deepen relationships among neighbors in our quickly gentrifying neighborhood. We were founded on and still believe that participating in creative activities lays a foundation for deeper understanding, mutual trust, and collective problem-solving. We hosted gatherings and hyper-local arts festivals with activities that allowed community members to express themselves in new formats; sharing a book, a song, or a family dish as a way to express personal values.  This history informs who we are today.


OUR VALUES

The Hello Arts Collective values curiosity, imagination, reflection, and reciprocity in our creative partnerships and collaborations. We celebrate courage, welcome learning, and seek inspiration from the world around us.

We invite our collaborators to share their values with us so that we might find common ground for our work together.
